Privacy notice

Your details, kept private.

How this website handles newsletter sign-ups, enquiries and visitor statistics.

Draft

This notice is a draft prepared with the website. It must be reviewed and approved by CIREE before the site goes live.

  1. 01

    Who we are

This website is run by CIREE, the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Ecology & Environment.

Placeholder: add the legal name of the organisation responsible for this website, its registered address and a contact for data protection questions.

  2. 02

    What we collect

Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, your first name if you give it, your consent, the page you signed up on and the date.

Enquiries: your name, email address, organisation if you give it, the type of enquiry, your message and the date.

We do not collect anything else through these forms, and we never ask for payment details.

  3. 03

    How we use it

Newsletter details are used only to send you the CIREE newsletter. Enquiry details are used only to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation.

Your details are never published on this website, sold or shared for marketing.

  4. 04

    Where it is kept

Submissions are stored in the private database behind this website, which only authorised CIREE staff can access. They may also be copied to a private spreadsheet that only authorised CIREE staff can open.

Each enquiry is also sent by email to the CIREE team so that someone can reply to you.

  5. 05

    Visitor statistics and embedded media

The published site counts visits with cookieless, privacy-friendly statistics. No advertising or tracking cookies are set by this website.

Videos are hosted by YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive and only load when you choose to play them. Those services may set their own cookies once a video starts.

  6. 06

    How long we keep it

Placeholder: add how long newsletter and enquiry details are kept before they are deleted.

  7. 07

    Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you, or to stop receiving the newsletter, at any time. Use the contact form and choose General enquiry.

Placeholder: add the supervisory authority you can complain to, for example the data protection regulator in the country where CIREE is based.
